Intestinal Rehabilitation

Intestinal rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary approach to managing patients with intestinal failure, a condition in which the intestines are unable to absorb nutrients and fluids adequately to sustain life. This can occur due to various reasons, including short bowel syndrome, surgical removal of a portion of the intestine, congenital disorders, or severe intestinal diseases. The goal of intestinal rehabilitation is to optimize the function of the remaining intestine and improve the patient's ability to absorb nutrients and fluids.
